Just get it to level 50 before you augment to knock out that last task for the season. Doesn't really matter that much if you're really only doing it to finish the task. Level it and use it to augment whatever piece you want. So I'd say just use any "extra" legendary you don't use in your build. Of course you only need ONE to finish off that task for the Season. You can then run GRs to level up all of those duplicates to augment your gear pieces. Now you'll have several of the same gem in your inventory.
